Well from what I understood the #53 blocks are thinner in certain locations. But I thought they are ok until you start kicking up the performance.

A 24v I had cracked on me, right around 280,000 but they were babied miles and mine also had zero performance modifications

They only fix I think is called locknstitch and I heard if the dealership is pretty expensive like above 2,000

There are at least 3 different castings of the 53 block...2 of them are suppose to be trouble free with towing and or with any performance modifications ...the upsetting part is that just over half are of the casting that have trouble with cracking. I'm gonna try to figure out some more info about this.
